These Terms are an agreement between you and Leo Kipuso Limited ("Leo", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Leo app or leokipuso.com, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Leo.
1. The Leo service
Leo is an online marketplace where users can list items for sale, browse and buy items, take part in auctions and flash sales, and use paid features that promote listings. Unless an item is clearly sold by Leo Kipuso Limited, Leo is a platform that connects buyers and sellers and is not a party to the sale between them.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
- You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account. Keep your password and one-time codes private and tell us at once if you suspect misuse.
- One person may not hold several accounts to avoid restrictions or manipulate reviews, bids or rankings.
3. Listings and seller responsibilities
If you list an item, you confirm that:
- you own the item or are authorised to sell it, and it is legal to sell in Tanzania;
- your photos and description are your own and are accurate, including the item's condition, price and any defects;
- you will honour the price and terms you advertise, and deliver the item as described.
We may review, edit the category of, hide or remove any listing that breaks these Terms or appears misleading.
4. Prohibited items and conduct
You must not list or use Leo for:
- stolen, counterfeit or pirated goods, or items that infringe someone else's rights;
- weapons, ammunition, explosives, illegal drugs, prescription medicines, alcohol or tobacco sold in breach of the law, or any item prohibited under Tanzanian law;
- adult content, animals or wildlife products where trade is restricted, or human body parts;
- fraud, scams, fake listings, spam, or asking buyers to pay outside agreed channels in order to deceive them;
- harassment, hate speech, threats or offensive comments and reviews;
- interfering with the app, scraping data, or trying to access accounts or systems without permission.
5. Buying and dealing with other users
Buyers and sellers deal directly with each other. Before paying, check the item and the seller. We recommend meeting in a safe public place, inspecting the item before paying, and never sharing your one-time codes or mobile money PIN. Leo does not guarantee the quality, safety or legality of items listed by users, or that a user will complete a sale.
6. Auctions and flash sales
- A bid is a binding offer to buy the item at that price if you are the highest bidder when the auction ends.
- Sellers must not bid on their own items or arrange for others to raise the price.
- Auction end times and flash sale prices shown in the app apply; we may cancel or extend an auction or sale if there is a technical error or suspected abuse.
7. Seller verification
Sellers may apply to be verified by submitting identity information. A verified badge means we checked the information provided at the time; it is not a guarantee of a seller's conduct or of any item. We may refuse or remove verification at our discretion.
8. Paid features and payments
- Some features, such as listing boosts, auction placement and subscriptions, are paid. Prices are shown in the app before you pay, in Tanzanian shillings unless stated otherwise.
- Payments are processed by our payment partners (including mobile money) or by Google Play and the App Store. Their terms also apply.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel in your Google Play or App Store account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
- Fees are non-refundable once a paid feature has been delivered, except where required by law or where we fail to provide it. Contact us if something went wrong.
9. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, text and other content you post. You give Leo Kipuso Limited a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, resize and share that content within Leo and in promoting Leo, for as long as it remains on the service. You are responsible for your content and must have the rights to post it.
10. Our intellectual property
The Leo name, logo, app and website, and their design and software, belong to Leo Kipuso Limited or its licensors. You may not copy, modify or use them except as allowed by these Terms.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Leo and delete your account at any time (see Delete your account). We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if you break these Terms, if required by law, or to protect users or Leo. Where reasonable, we will tell you why.
12. Disclaimers
Leo is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running smoothly but do not promise it will always be available, error-free or secure, or that listings are accurate. To the extent allowed by law, we exclude all implied warranties.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, Leo Kipuso Limited is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for losses arising from dealings between users, user content, or items bought or sold through Leo. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to Leo is limited to the amount you paid us for paid features in the six months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Tanzanian law.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. Disputes that cannot be resolved will be handled by the competent courts in Dar es Salaam.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and tell you in the app if the changes are significant. Continuing to use Leo after changes take effect means you accept them.
